Branch Committee

Chair

Joachim Keppler

43 years old, married, 4 children. After several years in Belgium I now live in the former capital Bonn. I worked since a decade for different multinational logistics companies and want now to finalize my studies, which I gave up nearly twenty years ago. I very much like the positive way mature students are treated at the OU.

Secretary  (responsible for issuing student cards)

Maurice O’Brien de Clare

A short version of my life: Born in Dublin in 1938, I worked in London and studied and worked and studied in Bonn, Berlin and Vienna theatre. I joined the Deutsche Welle in 1969 as journalist, where I also actively worked in the journalist union for about five years. I retired in 2003 and started studies with the OU in 2006. I'm hoping to get a History BA(Hons) in about a hundred years time. I also happen to believe that the time spent as a student-----whether young or elderly---- can also be a fun period of self-enrichment. A senior student has the great advantages of being mature, having a wealth of experience, not having to get a job at the end of it all and regarding the whole question of studying as a sort of hobby.

Communication Officer

Emanuela Innocente

I am Italian (33) and I live in Cologne since 3,5 years, where I live with my husband and where I currently work. I am studying toward a BA (Honours) Business Studies and in 2010, B204 & B301 are keeping me quite busy. Being an OU students is challenging but also a great opportunity to learn along with students around Europe: share ideas and experiences enrich you on a daily basis!
